The Beats by Dr. Dre brand was launched in 2008 with a single pair of headphones, now known as the Studios. Since then, the product lineup has expanded to include several styles of on-ear/over-ear headphones, several styles of in-ear headphones, and the Beatbox speaker dock. And in my opinion, Beats by Dr Dre are probably the most recognisable headphones in the world right now!
Now, I'll begin with my opinions on why I think that the Beats line are so huge in America and in Britain! The first thing anyone notices about the Beats by Dre line is how beautiful they are in design. You could choose any of the Beats by Dr Dre headphone line and it's equivalent Sennheiser counterpart and I can guaretntee if you asked the general public to choose the better looking headphone, they would choose the Beats. The material that the Beats are made out of with the metal and faux leather and thick plastic gives them a premium feel and look which is what a lot of people love about them and definitely one of the reason I love them.
My next reason as to why I think they're so popular is because Dr Dre has an emormous number of contacts in the Hip Hop business so he can get pretty much anyone he wants to feature them in his videos and this produces advertisement. And with the Hip Hop world being a massive influence on kids and the younger audience these days, it is definitely a good are of the market to advertise in.
The third and final reason I believe they sell so well is purely because of the sound quality, now yes, I'll agree, you can get better sounding headphones out there for a lower price, but I won't agree that you can get headphones out there with as deeper and clear bass as the Beats line! Now, Bass may not be for everyone, but the majority of people who will be buying these headphones will take the fact they look beautiful and that they sound awesome into consideration rather than browsing everywhere for the same headphone quality for cheaper. But even then, you have to consider all the qualities, are these equivalent as well made? Are these equivalent headphones as beautiful? Will these equivalent headphones last as long? If you can answer all these questions, then do comment on this Blog!
Anyway, my main order of business was that I was having a discussion with my friend the other day on whether we think that the Beats line may get their own class in the headphone market soon. We say this because when you look at the iPad and iPhone, they have their own category as opposed to the Smartphones and Tablets out there! We wondered whether in the future Beats would be seen as different to normal headphones.
Over the Christmas period of 2011, I have seen a MASSIVE amount of increase in headphones in the city that I live; the most popular line are the Beats Solos that come in at about £169 if you buy the HD versions. My friend originally bought them back in 2010 before the range was very big and he was one of the first people he could see who wore them, however we now see quite a few Beats headphones in the city that we live.

I just wanted to write this article because I was wondering if any company could get the same name as Apple and the Beats logo is recognuisable by many people, not nearly as recognisable as the Apple logo, but Apple has been advertising for WAY longer than Beats. Anyway, that's enough from me! Don't be afraid to post your opinions in the comments below!
