Nobex Radio Review

Nobex Radio for the Blackberry Playbook review

So, I've been looking for a good radio application for my PlayBook for a while and one day I saw Nobex Radio chilling up in the Featured Applications and I saw that it had very good reviews and star ratings so I decided to download it and give it a go, and man am I glad I did so!

Nobex Radio is set out very simply and was easy enough to work that I instantly had a station playing and was listening away. There’s no initial set up or tuning because the stations run off of your wireless connection and there already radio stations programmed in.
The look of Nobex Radio is very simple as I mentioned earlier, you have your station that is being played on the left in a box with the option to play/pause or add/remove from favourites. On the right hand side you have the playlist that is being played which usually shows the song that is being played, however I found that this wasn't always correct and would sometimes skip out certain songs or show up incorrect track details. What I also like about this section is with the songs that do show up, you have the option share the track to Facebook or Twitter; plus you can search for the video of the song on YouTube AND can view a Biography on the artist which I think is pretty amazing! Thirdly, you have your Favourites section along the bottom which looks similar to the home screen on the PlayBook, here you can quickly access your favourite radio stations (there are some pre-sets of some popular radio stations.) Finally, you have a Search bar in the top right hand corner where you can search for songs or radio stations; also, it gives you the option to search by category, so you are almost definitely likely to find the type of music you want to listen to.
Everything on this application runs very smoothly with the favourite bar sliding up and down and pressing the search bar slides the Playlist panel off the screen and brings the Search options back in. You are only given one setting and that is the option whether to have your station play immediately when you start up the application.
There aren’t many things I could think of to add to this application to improve it. Simple as that really, however, I’m sure the makers will find some tweaks and bugs to fix or maybe some new features to add in, however I find no problems with the application and would highly recommend downloading it.
